So I got the book today, and haven’t had a chance to make anything out of it just yet, but here’s my beef with it. Almost 50% of the recipes in this book use a box cake mix as its base. Yes, the recipes look delicious and are unique, but I detest the idea of buying a cookbook where the recipes start with buying a box of cake mix. I like making my cakes from scratch, which is why I bought a cookbook, and this book only offers that in half the recipes.
This is a great cookbook. I have gotten rave reviews on all the cakes I have made - Watergate, Triple Chocolate, Snickerdoodle, Chock full of Cherries, and Glazed Lemon were all good. Unlike some of the other reviewers, I like recipes that start with a cake mix.
I found a recipe in a magazine that was from this collection Everyone liked the results. Decided to buy the book, and glad I did. Have tried other recipes. Now, I have a use for my bundt pan instead of its gathering dust.
This book is awesome. Lots of good recipes. Easy to get ingredients.. will be fun to make these cakes...

The authors are bundt pan purists, preferring the cast aluminum pan that is trademarked by Minnesota's Nordic Ware. According to lore, H. David Dalquist, the owner of Nordic Ware cast the pan in 1950 for a group of women who were members of ther local branch of the Hadassah service organization, who wanted to recreate a German kugelhopf ring-shaped cake pan. The company continues to produce the branded pan in a variety of classic and new shapes. The book contains over 28 glazes, fillings and frostings, including almond, mojito, bourbon, lemon, vanilla, praline, champagne, chocolate, and marshmallow. The authors recommends bundt cakes for each month of the year, including peppermint candy cane bundt cake for December and Kentucky Derby Mint Julep Bundt Cake for May. Their dozens of recipes are segmented into those for BUNDT CAKE BLISS (Sour Cream, Watergate, Rosemary-Lemon, Orange Date Nut, Almond Olive OIl, Cappuccino, Sweet Tea, Zucchini Thyme, Tomato Soup Spice, Strawberry with Strawberry-Balsamic Sauce); CHOCOLATE BUNDT CAKE (Cola, Cherry Cola, Chocolate, German Chocolate, Chocolate Mayo, Turtle); POUND AND COFFEE CAKES (Honey Bee (and minced ginger), Spice Pound, Banana Walnut, Blueberry Yogurt, Snickerdoodle Coffee); and MARBLES, TUNNELS, SWIRLS, AND FILLS). Admit it... the Tomato Soup Bundt Cake with Raisins and cream cheese glaze is just too unusual not to get this book and try it. Or the Chocolate Peanut Butter TUNNEL one.
I love this book! It has lots of ideas for creating beautiful bundt cakes. The one thing I especially like about this recipe book is that the recipes are normal everyday cake recipes. Be warned there one recipe with tomato soup. The rest of the recipes are what you expect for a bundt cake, good old flour, sugar, and eggs. No weird squash/beet or other veggie bundt recipes in this book.
