So far, so good. I haven't finished reading it yet but I can say that's it's very well written, easy to grasp the more detailed concepts of plant-based eating - (I'm talking about the "scientific reasoning). I'm already making changes in my eating habits and am already feeling the benefits of doing so.

Page 36 - Mentions that you can get Ketosis if you don't eat enough carbs this is true but it is relatively difficult to achieve on a plant-based diet since you have to keep your carbs under 50 grams for multiple days and any piece of fruit will prevent the condition. It takes a few days to achieve ketosis, what you should worry about is ketoacidosis, but that typically does not happen in healthy people but those who have diabetes. A quick search of the web can give more information and you can see for yourselves.I am sure I am going to find other things that make me doubt the author but otherwise, it is a decent book.

I wish I would of had this book before my mom passed. We would of made sure she had a plant base diet for her feeding tube:) Knowledge is power!!!

I recommend people with MCS and EMF sensitivity stay away from these series of books. I got through my MCS and EMF sensitivity by treating it as PTSD and conditioned responses and no longer have either of these. Various stuff around brain retraining that is all over the internet was very helpful. This series contains lots of stuff that will encourage avoidance and fear which only makes the problem worse. This doctor and book are well intended, but do not contain the best information for someone seeking to get through this. Environmental doctors while very knowledgeable about the illness are missing some key points which prompts more fear which makes the illness worse.

This book is part of a four-volume set written by THE authority on environmental illness. He is currently in the process of publishing the second edition of this set, with the first two volumes available at the time of my writing. But, the old volumes include so much information that isn't in the new volumes that I thought it was worth buying both sets. I was not disappointed.

The recipes in this book are all cooked in a cute microwave pot. I have found all of the food really simple to make, with few ingredients and cooking times of only a few minutes. You can treat the recipes like tapas dishes and make a varied meal by putting a few of them together. What I love most is that veggies retain their color and nutrition, and are much more flavorful than steaming or boiling on the stove. It's also amazing to find a book and device that can cook meat and fish deliciously in the microwave!!! Lastly, and so helpful is that almost all of the recipes have beautiful full page photos. As mentioned in the Oprah write up, the Cook-Zen pot can be bought online at [...] Like the other reviewer, I am giving the books and pots as Christmas gifts, especially to my niece for cooking in her college dorm.

I was intrigued by the story and information about this pot. It sounded and behaves somewhat like a microwave presure cooker. I've yet to explore the Japanese recipies included with the pot and the focus of the author's cookbook, but have found this little wonder is superbe for microwaving veggies: in 4 minutes a FULL pot of perfect green beans was on the table. Its easy to use, easy to clean, good for direct table serving. Everyone asked for ordering information after dinner.

Exactly what I was looking for. For anyone out there trying your hand at learning how to cook outside your comfort zone, but still wanna try good food, I recommend this book.

I love this product and the recipes in the book are great. Saw it recommended in Oprah magazine. Have been using it for a couple of weeks and have made 6-7 meals. Meats and fish remain flavorful and juicy and broths with them are delicious. made the best rice I've ever made with it. I did have to make a trip to an Asian grocery to get some ingredients. Veggies are wonderful this way and keep all their nutritional values. Am giving a zen-cooker to my son with this book for Christmas. Would love to have more recipes if anyone knows of any.

Basically focused on 1 appliance (costly one too) . I expected a versatile book on Japanese cooking, with recipes useable with any microwave and any microwaveable dish. So you need to buy the appliance specifically to use the recipes to the full extent, and even then you can cook only 1 dish at a time. Not useful, and not at all what I need.

I got this book and one other at my local used book shop after briefly scanning it. I was in the mood for Japanese and looking to change up my eating plan. After I got it home and really looked at it I realized that I needed this nifty pot. Oh well, a reason to buy it. I've ordered the other book and look forward to the more western style recipes in it. These books are good to figure out how long things are suppose to cook and get ideas from. Simple replacements to ingredients adds a whole new face to it, like changing the wasabi in one of the chicken recipes to spicy mustard and fresh ginger was fabulous.

When I bought this book (and the Zen cooker) what I was expecting toget was something similar to a slow cooker for Japanese dishes whichused a microwave. That is to say, I thought each recipe would be acomplete meal, in which you would put all the ingredients in thecooker, turn on the microwave and presto -- dinner tonight! This isnot the case. The recipes, from what I have tried, are good, but if youwant to make a complete meal from these you will have a bit of troublesince you have to cook each section (i.e. rice, vegetables, main dish)separately you have the trouble of keeping them all warm.The book and the Zen Cooker are not cheap, and even though therecipes are good, for what I bought it for -- it was not a goodpurchase for me.
