This is a book needed for my class and I am still using it.

Excellent book. Great condition.

The text was recommended for a Contracting Licensing Exam and it is right on.All pertinent topics are covered thoroughly and I'm looking forward to taking my exam.

This book has a lot of great study guides in it as it is filled with knowledge of the subject at hand!

I had bought this book to get prepared to take a Master Electrical Licensing test for the City of Wilkes Barre. I did not pass that test but be looking forward to attempting it again after Graduate School.

If you are an electrical engineering student or planning to do it and you want to build a foundation in ee this is the book for you.Its explanation of inductance,capacitance,3 phase supply,induction and synch motor is simply fantastic

Some publishers either don't think twice about overcharging the public or never have competent people read their books before publication. For an electrical book with a price of $100 or more, one should get a college level engineering book written well by a highly qualified author. This book is a vocational level collection of the same old stuff that field workers have been saddled with for the last century or more. In short, the the trained monkey version of electricity designed to put field workers on the job without teaching them what electricity is really about. Every few years a new edition comes out with a word or two about new technology or a CD ROM and a big price increase. There ought to be a law against this... To be fair Hermann is a better author than most of these regurgitators of the same old slip shod ideas. He is a few levels above the likes of a Fowler, but then again, who isn't? However, there is no point in getting his latest edition unless you have a gun pointed at you. Do yourself a huge favor and buy or borrow an old edition. Nothing authors like this write is worth more than 15 bucks.

This review applies to the 6th edition. This is a very good introduction to all of the various technologies of modern commercial AC power. It includes good descriptions of various 3-phase systems and their components (alternators, transformers, and motors). The book starts with the the very basics, but a working knowledge of basic math and electronics helps. Very readable with good diagrams. If you want to understand the difference between split-phase and three-phase current, or the difference between an induction motor and a synchronous motor, this is the book for you.

First of all, the book is way smaller than I expected. I am not familiar with the series (My First Discoveries) and I did not pay attention to the description that states that the book size is 6.5 x 7 inches. For such a book it would be better to have a regular or big size.The idea of transparent pages with different body systems is absolutely wonderful. However, the reproductive system is missing! What kind of an odd mind would picture boys and girls genitals and leave out reproductive system? Hey, it is not like poof! and reproductive system appears out of nowhere at puberty!Also, a fetus is pictured in some kind of sphere in vacuum. Seriously? Nowadays at the age recommended (3-5 years) children already know that babies are not brought by storks, but grow in a woman belly. Authors (or editors, whoever made the decision on leaving those facts out) should get over their prudishness.So I would recommend this book ONLY as an additional material to complete anatomy book.

Great graphics. My son was interested enough to start asking questions. It does start with baby in womb(has a clear sheet, with picture. When you flip the page the image changes on backside of clear sheet). They use this method repeatedly(muscles, bones etc). Is age appropriate but if your not ready to talk about babies in the womb you might want to hold off on this one. But my son loves it and we pick it up at least once a week and he shows me where his bones are that are in the pictures.

i got this book to introduce my daughter (3.5 y/o) to more serious/ scientific books. she doesn't yet understand the whole concept but she surely enjoyed looking at the pictures.

My almost 3 year old absolutely loves this book. He's had a fascination with the body from an early age and loves the detail and explanation in this book. Totally age appropriate for 2.5-5 and serves as a great intro into the body.

This is a very nice book. My oldest granddaughter was asking a lot of questions about the body and how the bones etc. all work and are put together. I ordered this and a few other books on the subject and she love them.

My 5 year old has a lot of questions about his body. He learns best by seeing what is being explained. This book offers kid friendly images that help me show him what's on the inside. He loves the pictures that overlay.

Informative and holds my 3 year old's attention, just like all the books in this series. Highly recommend!
