I was a missionary serving the poor in Honduras while Archbishop Romero was empowering the poor with the spirit of the Gospel in El Salvador. His sermons remain close at hand in recorded format and have always inspired me, even today. I am grateful for the courage and witness of this man.

The diary entries interspersed between the sermons gave an interesting perspective. His love for the poor really cam through. I enjoyed the book so much, after giving it away, I obtained another copy.

Oscar Romero, now a saint, was brave, courageous and dedicated to his work. This book summarizes his story using accounts of life from others, his diaries and his homilies. Beautiful!

Oscar Romero was a priest in El Salvador known for his nonviolent Liberation Theology. The El Salvadorean government had killed others who dared to speak up on behalf of the poor and they blocked the radio broadcast of his masses and homilies, further isolating the campesinos in remote areas. He was shot in the head while wrappng up a funeral sermon in church, spelled out in the last chapter, and he died instantly. His sermons and writings are in this small but very accessible book, including his last sermon. One delightful feature is that handwritten notes are photographed throughout (unless that is a very exceptional handwriting font.) I read the book in about an hour, but have thought about it for many more.

Citations for the excerpts can be found in the back of the book -- a welcome feature.Like other books in this series, this short collection will familiarize readers with Bl. Oscar, especially his deep faith in the Jesus Christ which led to his martyrdom for speaking out on the injustices and atrocities being committed against the Salvadoran people. This isn't a glamour puss book full of colour photo and lots of talk. What it is, is a solid book with diagrams, information and common sense instructions on how to spin. From where to start, where to get assistance, and a comprehensive guide to spinning from start to finish and all in between.It is written in simple terms, very easy to follow and understand - one of the best I have seen for a beginner, if not the best. Spinning is not hard all you need is practise and knowledge on how to set up your wheel (with the understanding of the part and functions) This book covers the last part, the practice is up to you. An excellent book.This book was provided to me in return for an honest and unbiased review

I've been reading tons of articles and watching YouTube videos. Much of this information can be found elsewhere, but not in such a comprehensive manner. The author does a good job of explaining the whys while not overwhelming a new spinner with too much information.

Just what I was looking for.I already knew how to use a drop spindles and I am researching spinning wheels. This book gives info on many types of wheels, how they work, as well as other aspects of spinning-plying etc. Great little book.
