Whereas the Charlotte story is told from the perspective of an outsider looking in, Williams, the point guard in Orlando's quest for a franchise, details the machinations, intrigues, and manic mood swings over a three-year period from the inside out. Williams, who seemingly never met a cliche he didn't like (or use in this book), is nevertheless informative. The Orlando Magic were created out of a dream, but were assembled by vision. This book explains why it is so important to have a map lined out in front of you, or your business to create MAGIC. This book goes into every single detail in how the Orlando Magic were lifted up, and how many people are needed to be assembled to create something out of nothing. The author does a great job at explaining the little things that are needed, and the big as well. The Mayor, the dance team, phone calls, newspaper clippings, press conferences, scouting, tickets, arena, draft, travel, it just goes on and on and on. If the dream was just that, a dream it never would had taken off. The Magic are alive and thriving because of Pat Williams and his staff were willing to make it happen. Ever single hiccup was another road bump to success. If you need a real fairy tale to show dreams do come true, then just stop and look at the city of Orlando. Two great, awesome dreams came to life and both are Magical.
